GVC Holdings’ online betting exchange property BETDAQ has introduced 0 percent commission on most sports on its exchange following a number of trial periods.
The change will see the new commission structure being adopted by all sports, with the only ones not included being football, horse racing, greyhound racing and cricket.
Shane McLaughlin, Managing Director of BETDAQ, said: “Having trialled a 0% commission structure on several occasions earlier this year and seeing how successful it was in terms of liquidity generation and customer retention, we’ve decided to roll it out permanently on the majority of sports.
“We have seen really impressive growth in tennis markets over the past 12 months and by introducing this new commission structure we continue to reward customers with a fantastic betting experience whilst our new commission-free initiative means they will increase liquidity and have access to the best price on tennis in the industry.”
After ‘a number of hugely successful trial periods’ carried out during the US Open 2019 and Wimbledon, the exchange opted to offer 0 percent commission on the majority of sports.
The exchange saw a 307 percent year-on-year rise in matched bets during the Wimbledon tournament, while active users were dramatically increased by 89 percent compared to 2018.
