GeoComply Makes $200k Conscious Gaming Donation For PlayPause Tool

GeoComply has made a $200,000 donation to Conscious Gaming to help finance the PlayPause self-exclusion tool’s accelerated deployment.

The company founded Conscious Gaming as an independent non-profit to coordinate the responsible gaming needs of all industry stakeholders and build a consistent baseline to share nationally.

Striving to unite the industry

The goal of the funding is to support the business as it continues to develop scale to address the responsible gaming challenges faced in the US by the igaming sector. In order to solve the challenges created by the patchwork of state-by-state requirements in the region, Conscious Gaming strives to unite the industry.

Front seat to US iGaming growth

Anna Sainsbury, GeoComply chairman and co-founder said: “We have been very fortunate at GeoComply to have a front seat to the growth of the igaming industry across the United States over the past decade.

“We recognise with this growth comes challenges and GeoComply is proud to commit funding to Conscious Gaming to help the industry fulfil its responsibilities and obligations to responsible gaming and a safe environment for players.”

Conscious Gaming will scale up the growth, business outreach and deployment efforts around the PlayPause tool with the original $200,000 donation.

PlayPause interest and momentum

Seth Palansky, vice president of corporate social responsibility and communications at Conscious Gaming said: “The interest and momentum for PlayPause from operators and regulators since the launch has been tremendous.

“This donation from GeoComply will help us scale our efforts and help drive the adoption of PlayPause throughout the US igaming industry in 2021.”

Entain and BetMGM have become the industry’s first operators to commit to using the PlayPause tool, while the first state regulator to deploy it was appointed by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
