Playtech Plc has announced Claire Milne’s appointment as Chair of the Interim Business, replacing Alan Jackson who at the beginning of the year chose to end his seven-year term as Chairman of the FTSE250 Technology Group.
Assessing the dynamics of the business disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Playtech explained in depth that it had decided to postpone its executive quest for a new permanent chairman to succeed him.
The firm’s decision to suspend its executive search took into account significant limitations and constraints for a new chairman to undertake rigorous governance tasks and effectively induce the company.
Playtech has decided on the appointment of Milne as interim president, who has served as Playtech’s Non-Executive Director since 2016, advising on global enforcement and legal discipline.
Milne has also worked as President of the Risk Committee of the company and as a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
Milne said: “The impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic has led us to temporarily pause the final stages of our recruitment process. I am very pleased to have been asked to act as Interim Chairman and will look to provide the necessary continuity ahead of the process concluding.
“On behalf of the Board and the entire management team, I would also like to thank Alan for his service to Playtech, and for his enthusiasm and his dedication to the business as a Non-Executive director since our IPO in 2006 and, in particular, as our Chairman for the last 7 years.”
