Manchester United have slipped to as far as a 100/1 shot to win the Premier League title with Bet365 in the aftermath of their 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester City on Saturday.
It was a humbling afternoon for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team who were completely toyed with in front of their home fans at Old Trafford and left them nine points behind leaders Chelsea in the race for the title.
Recent form has even seen both West Ham and Arsenal surpass United in the betting ranks, with the pair now priced at 50/1 and 80/1 respectively. With 27 games left in the league season there is still plenty to play for, but United’s record of four defeats in 11 is an ominous sign to say the least.
They only lost six games in the whole of last season as they finished second to their noisy neighbours, 12 points adrift of the title and it’s difficult to imagine a scenario where a team has lost that many games early on and still go on to win the league.

Losing three of their last four Premier League games and winning just one of their last six, it’s not the results that are the main concern at this moment in time, but more so the manner of the defeats.
They have been totally outplayed and outworked in their last two home losses to Liverpool and Manchester City, conceding seven and scoring none and never really looking like taking anything from either fixture.
That has understandably ranked up the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even further, with this season tipped as one where he had to win silverware at the very least to continue on as manager.
There is still no sign of him leaving the club anytime soon, despite multiple bookmakers now taking bets on who will be the next Manchester United manager. Being behind David Moyes’ West Ham will particularly sting at Old Trafford given their history with the Scot, while they are also somehow behind Arsenal in the table despite the Gunners opening the season with three straight defeats in the Premier League.
The current favourites to win the Premier League this season are the weekend’s conquerors City, who are priced as the odds-on favourites at 8/11.
That is despite the fact that they are not currently top of the table, though they will take huge heart from the fact that they have beaten both Chelsea and United away from home and got a point from Liverpool. All of those sides must also travel to the Etihad in the second half of the season, which will likely play a big part in them being the current favourites.
Table toppers Chelsea are second-favourites at 9/4 heading into the international break after seeing their lead cut to three points following their 1-1 draw at home to Burnley last time out. It was the first time that they have dropped points in the league since losing 1-0 to Pep Guardiola’s side and they boast the league’s best defensive record with just four goals conceded in 11 matches.
As for Liverpool, they have slipped to 5/1 after showing signs of vulnerability in their last two matches. They squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at home to Brighton before then losing 3-2 away to West Ham last time out, leaving them four points adrift of Chelsea but just a point off City.
It looks set to be one of the most exciting Premier League seasons in recent memory given the quality of the teams at the top and you can place bets on it with the very best mobile betting sites throughout the campaign.
