Covers Media Group, Covers.com’s corporate owner, has had his application this week for a Sports Wagering Registrant registration certificate accepted by the Indiana Gaming Commission for filing.
The IGC licence allows the company to extend its business partnerships within the state of Indiana with legal sportsbooks and online gaming operators, enabling data sites such as Covers.com to enable affiliate arrangements involving revenue sharing and referral user payments to those partners.
Head of Covers Media Group and Nova Scotia Sports Media Pros, Mark Harper, commented: “This is in line with our commitment to continue to work with our sportsbook operator partners in those legislated US states.
“On the back of the news that we are approved to operate the Covers sports betting products in Indiana, we are set to complete several partnerships with in-state operators.”
With an almost prodigious timing, the Covers brand enters the Indiana market. The state only introduced sports wagering on September 1 this year but, due to the advent of online gambling, has already seen a spike in handle, increasing 160 million in October to $91.7 m.
