On Wednesday XLMedia has confirmed Ken Dorward’s appointment as President of North America and a member of its Global Executive Committee.
Dorward joins the London AIM web publisher who previously worked as Chief Operating Officer of the leading U.S. affiliate network Rakuten Inc., where he oversaw strategic alliances, advertising properties, and publishers.
Dorward’s appointment as North American business lead comes after a period of consolidation across the company’s publishing portfolio. XLMedia is focused on high-value sectors to generate sustainable growth in the long term.
Dorward will be charged with the North American business strategy of leading XLMedia which sees the company targeting the rapid expansion of its publishing assets in the sports and personal finance sectors.
Following a group strategy change during Q1 trading, XLMedia announced that it will concentrate on strategic business alliances, as well as the acquisition and production of highly engaging content-rich sites.
XLMedia’s chief executive Stuart Simms commented: “I am very excited to have Ken join the XLMedia team. Ken has a deep understanding of our industry and a proven track record of delivery. This is another step in the execution of XLMedia’s transformation strategy to deliver the next phase of growth.
“I, and the rest of the team, very much look forward to working with Ken to drive rapid progress outside Europe, and to begin to make material inroads into the attractive US Personal Finance and Sports markets.”
