Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson, co-founders of the advertising group Seven Bucks Companies, and RedBird Capital Partners were chosen as the winning bidder for practically all of the assets of Alpha Entertainment LLC, the parent company of the XFL suspended.
The XFL properties will be sold for approximately $15 m to Garcia, Johnson and RedBird, in compliance with the terms and conditions of the asset purchase agreement. The deal is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court at a hearing this Friday , August 7 and is scheduled to close on or shortly after August 21, provided the closing conditions are met.
With this purchase, the company secures the right to option live intellectual property entertainment and extend further through sports, live events and original entertainment programming.
