A further expansion of its WynnBet casino and sports betting app has been reported by Wynn Resorts as the entity joins Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) in making the final planning for today’s Michigan debuts.
Wynn Resorts will open its virtual doors for registration and use in the state, following approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The company promises ‘a broad selection of professional sports and high-end casino games that users can quickly and easily toggle between”.
In Michigan, WynnBet acquired market access via a multi-year agreement with GAN and Sault Ste. Chippewa Indians’ Marie Tribe, with the collaboration being one of nine approved for launch to go live on the market.
WynnBet is currently available in New Jersey and Colorado, in addition to the Wolverine State, with market access obtained in Indiana, Iowa, Nevada, and Massachusetts and licenses submitted in Tennessee and Virginia. Such market access and license receipts shall be subject to the legalisation and the approvals required in each jurisdiction by the regulatory authorities.
Craig Billings, president of Wynn Resorts said: “We are excited to bring WynnBet and the renowned Wynn betting experience to Michigan, the first of many additional states we intend to enter in 2021.
A meaningful market
“With its large and highly engaged community of sports and casino fans, we are confident that Michigan will become a meaningful market for us.”
In collaboration with the Ojibwa Casino and Keweenaw Bay Indian Group, GNOG, which will also continue with both online casino and sports betting deals, is to be launched in the area.
GNOG will also introduce a new version of its online sportsbook using the OpenSports platform from Scientific Games, promising a number of online slots and table games through the igaming offering.
GNOG Chief, Thomas Winter, commented: “We are really excited to go live in Michigan and are committed to offering a superior product, flawless execution and world-class player experience like we have done in New Jersey.
“We’d like to thank our partner, the Ojibwa Casino and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, for their support in introducing our premium online casino and sportsbook in the great state of Michigan.”
