In a transaction that will see a podcast recording studio added to the Wynn Las Vegas lobby, Wynn Resorts will spend $3.5 million in the sports podcasting network Blue Wire.
Blue Wire podcast and WynnBet
According to The Verge, the new collaboration will also look to explain Wynn Resort’s sports betting business on Blue Wire podcasts and a new branded podcast called WynnBet.
The Wynn’s lobby studio is committed to raising enthusiasm for the resort’s future activities. Boxers for a match at the Wynn, or celebrities or entertainers staying at the hotel that may be on the Blue Wire podcast, are examples.
The podcast studio will be advertised during the NCAA’s March Madness, according to Wynn Resorts President Craig Billings, with a formal opening planned this summer. According to news, Blue Wire has decided to use the site for the next three years.
Wynn Resorts will take an ownership interest in Blue Wire, according to CEO Kevin Jones of the podcast group. Although executives shared few specifics about their relationship, it will earn assured in-podcast ads.
Blue Wire recently received $5 million in series A financing, and the network currently has over 140 programmes, many of which are hyper-focused on athletics. This is on top of the $1.2 million it earned in February.
This arrangement is close to others in the industry. In January, The Athletic, which also publishes sports news and podcasts, joined up with BetMGM to launch an entire sports betting hub on its website, as well as deeper content integrations.
