Women More Likely To Pick Winner When Gambling In Sports

Women appear to have a distinct advantage over men when it comes to winning on sports bets. This is according to a recent study by 888 Holdings, the parent company of a number of 888-branded gambling operations, which looked at sports gambling in the state of New Jersey. ⠀

888 analysed sports betting information from the start of the year, according to NJ Gambling Sites, and discovered that in their wagers females see stronger outcomes than males. On average, they received a 19.79 per cent return on their investments, compared to the 4.6 per cent loss that men saw. That distinction is significant and should be enough to create it possible for males to make a joint choice on their wagers.

It’s not completely evident why this is the situation, but there are some useful signs. One of the contributing variables, and the most probable cause, is the absence of any emotional attachment on the part of many women to athletics. This does not mean females are not enthusiastic about their favourite teams, but the link is typically lower relative to males, and they are more probable to create gambling choices with their heads, not their hearts.

Breaking it even further, at sports betting younger females are better than elderly generations at winning. 888 Holdings reported that the return on investment (ROI) for females aged 25-34 years was 127.06% on average and 129.6% for females aged 35-44. But in the age range  45-54 the yield fell to-61.72%. The ROI was -8.47% for males aged 25-34, 0.88% for males aged 35-44 and 16.9% for males aged 45-54.

Differences, too, extend beyond sports bets. Women saw an average loss of 24.07% in online casino games compared to a loss of 47% for men. Poker appears to follow the same trend, with women losing an average of 38% whilst men lost on average of 41.69%.

This is no means a scientific study of how gender can affect wagers, but it provides some very interesting insight. As sport gambling, as well as other forms of gambling, continues to roll out across the United States, it will be interesting to see how numbers track. In the meantime, any man that gambles should seriously consider teaming up with a female partner before making their own choices.
