William Hill Takes First Step In Michigan With Grand Traverse Resort And Casinos

In the state of Michigan, William Hill made the long awaited first step, seven months after signing an agreement with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians to become the exclusive provider of online sports betting and casino gaming.

Under the terms of the agreement, at Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel, the pair opened their first sportsbooks in the Wolverine State, along with a satellite location at Leelanau Sands Casino.

Michael Schrader, CEO of Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos said: “We are excited to align with William Hill, the leading sports betting company in the US.  They are the best in the business, and that’s always what we strive to give our guests. We have an excellent, trained staff to assist customers with getting their bets down.

When Michigan regulations are permitted, we will be able to offer the best in online gaming and betting as well.  This is truly a win-win for Northern Michigan.”

A ribbon-cutting with Ernest Stevens Jr, chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association, followed by a ceremonial first bet made by NBA All-Star Rick Mahorn, was part of the grand opening ceremony.

William Hill’s Onyx sportsbook at Turtle Creek Casino features two ticket windows and two kiosks, next to the casino floor’s table games and slot machines.

In addition , the company also boasts 20 high-definition TVs, free sports, food and drinks, and an outdoor patio.

Two sports betting kiosks are included in the satellite location at Leelanau Sands Casino, with customers served at both locations according to CDC-recommended guidelines.
