William Hill Open Their Washington DC Sportsbook

The William Hill sportsbook at the Washington, D.C., Capital One Arena. — Home to NBA Wizards and NHL Capitals — opened at 4 p.m. on Friday; At temporary arena venue. According to The Washington Post, it is in the main box office section of the stadium, which is unused without Caps or Wizards games right now.

“We’ve come up with this temporary location as a way to allow our customers to bet on sports now that they are resuming, while we continue to work towards finalising the permanent sports book, restaurant and bar concept we have always visualised,” said Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US.

The Wizards and Capitals will play their remaining games in the NBA and NHL bubble cities this season. The Wizards are playing their first game of the resumed NBA season in Orlando , Florida on Friday.

Bettors can place cash bets through seven ticket windows in the temporary space, the first sportsbook in the Capital city, and there will be nine electronic kiosks there. The sportsbook is open daily beginning at 11 a.m. Around 11 p.m. Officials are hoping the permanent sportsbook is done in the fall.

The permanent sportsbook would be in the space that had been occupied by the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille, the article said in The Post. When the agreement with Capital One-William Hill was revealed in October 2019, officials said it will be a two-floor sportsbook with betting windows and connectivity to mobile device betting.
