Patrick Jonker, the legacy betting group’s International Managing Director, has left the company, according to William Hill.
Jonker is leaving on good terms as William Hill’s UK and European operations are set to combine with 888 Holdings, completing the £2.2 billion divestiture agreement reached between Caesars Entertainment and 888 earlier this month.
On a temporary basis, Group COO Stephen Parry will take up Jonker’s responsibilities as International MD.
Jonker, the former CEO of Betsson Group, joined William Hill in 2019 as an executive hire of Group Chief Executive Ulrik Bengtsson, who was tasked with leading the company’s turnaround after years of multi-million-pound losses.
Jonker was a significant player in William Hill’s £250 million acquisition and integration of Mr Green in 2019 — a game-changing deal that saw the company establish its International Division across regulated European countries.
Jonker explained in a statement: “I feel comfortable stepping aside for new management to prepare for the next chapter for William Hill International.”
Commenting on the executive’s departure, Ulrik Bengtsson said: “I would like to thank Patrick for his leadership of the William Hill International team over the last two and a half years, and wish him the best of luck in his next challenge.”
