William Hill Plc has begun the phased closure of their ‘Gametek Office’ in Stockholm, a decision made by the FTSE betting group to simplify their operating structures.
Through releasing a statement to SBC, William Hill labels its Stockholm office closure as a ‘natural step’ in incorporating MRG Group assets into its larger organisation through the firm.
By the end of the trading year 2020, William Hill will move to close Gametek offices entirely. The betting company will begin a consultation process with staff shortly.
In support of the transition, William Hill confirms that with another 50 new roles created to support global growth projects, it will strengthen its Krakow tech unit.
It said: “We’re adopting a team-based approach to product development in which teams are aligned to the business area they support. This requires us to structure the right number of teams, with the right skills, which means we’ve had to make some tough decisions about locations. Our intention is to close the Stockholm office by the end of the year, migrating the work and potentially in some cases colleagues to Krakow or Leeds.”
