Watford FC, a Premier League football team, has announced a multi-year agreement with Stake.com, a crypto casino and sports betting platform, which the club describes as “extremely exciting.”
The club-record arrangement will see Stake become the club’s primary jersey sponsor for the 2021/22 season, when they return to English football’s top division.
Principle shirt sponsor
Watford FC chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury said: “We are thrilled to welcome Stake as our principal shirt sponsor ahead of the 2021/22 season. This will be an extremely exciting campaign for the club as we return to the Premier League and we couldn’t be happier to join with a partner who match our ambitious outlook and commitment to innovation in order to achieve success.”
The agreement, which was paid for in cryptocurrency, comes as Stake continues to expand globally, with the company claiming that the collaboration will use the Premier League’s global appeal to raise brand exposure throughout the world, notably in the United Kingdom.
Stake will launch crypto-themed initiatives to mark the start of the relationship, including a 10 million Dogecoin giveaway on its international platform. In addition, as Stake launches their UK website, Stake.co.uk, UK consumers can expect a slew of extra promotions and freebies.
Stake.co.uk CEO Mladen Vuckovic added: “The past few years have seen consistent growth for Stake and this partnership with Watford marks the next chapter for our company.
“We could not be more thrilled to partner with a club that has such immense history yet still a true innovative spirit. We’re committed to becoming a key part of the Watford family and have a number of exciting initiatives planned for fans over the coming months.”
Following the announcement of Stake as the UFC’s official betting partner in Latin America and Asia in March, the relationship with Watford FC expands the brand’s sports sponsorship portfolio.
