Vodafone Back Allwyn In National Lottery Bid

Vodafone has backed Allwyn’s offer to win the fourth National Lottery Licence competition run by the UK government.

Vodafone has agreed to be Allwyn’s National Lottery’s “connectivity partner,” assisting in the digitisation of the National Lottery’s operations and services for a new generation of customers.

Major coup

Czech gambling giant SAZKA Group who announced Allwyn as its new UK identity in its National Lottery efforts, hailed Vodafone’s support as a major coup in its attempt to succeed Camelot UK as the lottery’s principal steward after 30 years.

Vodafone will continue to be a critical technology partner for Allwyn in terms of strategizing and scaling the UK’s ultra-demanding retail and digital commerce environments.

Allwyn stated that its bid was now backed by the leading telecoms player in 5G networking and a company reshaping Britain’s role within the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as a company reshaping Britain’s position within the Internet of Things (IoT).

Market-leading connectivity

Anne Sheehan, Business Director of Vodafone UK said: “We have provided market-leading connectivity in the UK for more than 30 years, and we understand the technologies that enable the best, most cutting-edge experiences.

“With our innovative portfolio of 4G, 5G, IoT and fixed connectivity solutions, we can ensure in-app, online and retail journeys are simple and reliable for customers across the UK.”

SAZKA strengthened its UK presence this month by establishing Allwyn as its UK registered company, which will handle all responsibilities related to Sir Keith Mills’ National Lottery tender.

In other news this week, Twitter UK MD Dara Nasr has joined Allwyn to steer the strategy for the National Lottery.

Bringing the fun back to lotteries

“At Allwyn, as part of SAZKA Group, we make lotteries better so that they can serve as a force for good. We often do this by bringing the fun back to lotteries that have lost their spark, while always safeguarding our players – ensuring sustainable growth and more money to good causes along the way,” Mills commented.

“With innovative partners like Vodafone, an experienced steward in SAKZA Group, and an impressive advisory board that includes Justin King and Brent Hoberman, Allwyn is building an exciting and credible future proposition for the UK market.”
