Victor Blanco will join Scientific Games as chief technology officer in 2022, bringing a cutting-edge outlook and technology experience to complement the company’s leadership team.
Blanco’s responsibilities will include overseeing Scientific Games’ technology policy through gaming, lottery, sports betting, and igaming, as well as assisting in the production and execution of the company’s games.
Innovative and strategic approach
Barry Cottle, Scientific Games president and CEO, said of the appointment said: “Victor’s innovative and strategic approach to both software and hardware design is a great fit for our Scientific Games leadership team.
“We know that his leadership will ensure we are providing the most innovative games, systems and products for our partners and players.”
Blanco was most recently CTO at Aristocrat, where he oversaw technology strategy and was credited with playing a “instrumental” role in developing the innovations and teams that helped Aristocrat achieve “a successful turnaround for its land-based gaming business.” In addition, he oversaw the company’s growth into social casino and casual gaming.
Blanco previously worked for HTC as the director of software architecture and for Microsoft in a variety of software engineering positions, including being a member of the team that created the first Xbox game console and online service.
