VBet Receives License Clearing For Ukraine Market

The VBet online casino and sports betting brand of BetConstruct has received licence clearance to enter the Ukrainian market, which it describes as a “great honour and privilege.”

The Ukrainian Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries confirmed the group’s entry into the region on May 31, 2021, when it got approval for online poker and online casino licences. According to VBet, the former will make it “the first licenced online poker operator in Ukraine.”

CEO and founder of BetConstruct, Vigen Badalyan said: “Our team sees great potential in the Ukrainian market, and is excited to provide fully legal and high-quality entertainment solutions to its clients.

“VBet is always keen to support responsible gambling, grow local sports, follow the highest business ethics standards, and fill the market with drive, creativity, and passion.”

Important strategic step

VBet describes its entry into the regulated Ukrainian market as a “important strategic step” toward increasing its position in a number of worldwide regulated jurisdictions. VBet will operate in Ukraine under the VBet.ua domain name.

VBet’s head of licencing and certification, Seda Mkhitaryan, said: “It is a great honour and privilege to receive the approval of the Ukrainian Gambling and Lottery Commission for online casino and online poker.

“This is an important event for us, especially in these challenging times. It’s been a long, hard journey, but, for our team, even the sky’s not the limit.”

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine legalised gambling on July 14, 2020, a move that was hailed as a “historic event” in a country where the activity had been forbidden for over a decade.
