PointsBet, a gaming and sportsbook provider, has named Drew Brees, a potential Hall of Fame quarterback, as a global brand ambassador.
Brees’ employment will enhance the bond between the two companies as he dives into the sports betting landscape. He is already shifting from signal caller to broadcasting with PointsBet sports betting partner NBC Sports.
The CEO of PointsBet USA, Johnny Aitken, stated: “Today is a massive day for our company as we welcome Drew Brees into the PointsBet family. Drew is renowned for his tireless work ethic and achieved great success in his career regardless of the obstacles in front of him, possessing the scrappy, well-prepared challenger, win-at-all-costs mentality that embodies PointsBet’s DNA.
“We look forward to collaborating for years to come and integrating Drew across our portfolio to complement PointsBet’s market-leading technology infrastructure and strategic approach to the competitive sports betting space.”
Brees will become a substantial PointsBet shareholder as part of the exclusive multi-year partnership, taking an ownership interest in the company to better demonstrate the shared ambition. He’ll star in and help develop unique content for the company, as well as host watch parties and steer marketing and promotional strategies.
On his appointment Brees said: “I am excited to team up with PointsBet, a leader in the future of sports entertainment built off elite technology. Sports betting is growing across the country and will positively impact sports engagement, and I am proud to be at the forefront alongside PointsBet and NBC Sports.”
As NBC Sports’ official and exclusive sports betting partner, PointsBet will promote its brand across the media giant’s premium television and digital assets. NBC Sports will provide PointsBet with year-round multiplatform media and marketing opportunities across its portfolio of events, including unique multiplatform gameday integrations across NBC Sports Regional Networks, as part of the deal.
