PGA TOUR and DraftKings Expand Commercial Links For Arizona Market Access

The PGA TOUR and DraftKings Inc have announced that subject to regulatory approvals, they will extend their current commercial agreement to offer DraftKings market access for retail and mobile sports betting in Arizona.

The transition comes after the Arizona Legislature passed HB 2772, which authorizes DFS and sports betting, subject to Governor Doug Ducey’s approval. The two partners have both confirmed plans to open a luxury retail sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale as part of the deal.

First-of-its-kind sportsbook

DraftKings’ Chief Business Officer, Ezra Kucharz, stated: “When DraftKings became the first Official Betting Operator of the PGA TOUR last summer, a number of possibilities opened up to innovate together. 

“This momentous effort to pursue a first-of-its-kind sportsbook with the PGA TOUR is a testament to the vision of both organizations that we believe will ultimately benefit Arizona sports fans who want to legally bet on sports.” 

The PGA TOUR and DraftKings plan to create a beautifully spectacular “19th hole” experience at TPC Scottsdale, where fans can put wagers, watch sports, and enjoy high-quality food and beverage choices all year long.

Local community

The two are also working closely with the City of Scottsdale and the Thunderbirds, the Waste Management Phoenix Open’s host agency, to grow the project and enhance the local community’s fiscal, tourist, and charitable benefits.

The retail sportsbook is being considered for several locations at TPC Scottsdale, with information to be revealed at a later date.

Official sports betting affiliate

DraftKings will now become the official sports betting affiliate of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which is held annually at TPC Scottsdale, as part of the extended deal. To place TPC Scottsdale as a premier global destination for sports bettors and ardent golf enthusiasts, the PGA TOUR and DraftKings will partner on co-marketing campaigns and unique hospitality experiences.
