The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission has awarded a long-term contract to International Game Technology PLC (IGT) and its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation.
IGT will update the lottery’s video lottery central infrastructure, which connects over 11,500 video lottery terminals (VLTs) and electronic table games (ETGs) throughout Maryland’s six casinos, under the terms of the agreement. The contract will last until September 2028, with the option to extend for another four years.
INTELLIGEN video lottery central system programme
In the Old Line State, IGT will instal its enhanced INTELLIGEN video lottery central system programme, which supports the scale, complexity, and security of monitoring and regulating every VLT and ETG.
Advanced business intelligence tools for simple day-to-day operations management and monitoring, as well as modern disaster recovery technologies, are included in the update.
IGT’s Chief Operating Officer for Gaming, Nick Khin, commented: “IGT’s INTELLIGEN system enables the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission to utilise advanced tools and industry-leading technology which is integral to the ongoing success of the VLT program.
“IGT has been the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission’s trusted partner and the sole provider of its VLT systems since the State’s first casino opened in 2010. Maryland’s VLT program is robust, and we look forward to contributing to its continued success throughout the next decade.”
