Through a market access agreement with Casino Queen, Fubo Gaming has received approval from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission to allow online sports wagering in the state.
The Chicago-based subsidiary of live TV streaming platform fuboTV said the development is “an important next step” toward launching its mobile sportsbook, Fubo Sportsbook, in the fourth quarter of 2021.
When it launches, sports bettors in Iowa will have access to a mobile sportsbook that aims to improve their gambling experience by integrating sports wagering and live streaming with fuboTV’s “Watching Now” feature.

Fubo Sportsbook promises to blend data from both the betting and streaming platforms to provide a customised betting experience that reflects what consumers are watching on fuboTV. The startup is seeking to turn passive viewers into active, engaged participants by leveraging fuboTV’s first-party user behaviour data to analyse consumers’ viewing patterns and recommend relevant bets.
According to Scott Butera, president of Fubo Gaming: “As we enter the mobile sports betting market, we couldn’t be more excited to kick off this journey in Iowa. We thank the IRGC and Casino Queen for being the perfect partner in helping us cross the goal line and bring this sportsbook to the passionate sports fans of Iowa.
“We believe Fubo Sportsbook will provide an elevated sports entertainment experience that will bring increased interaction and engagement between sports viewing and betting. We are working with regulators in additional markets as we aim to truly innovate the gaming space.”
Fubo Gaming has also secured market access agreements with the Ak-Chin Indian Community in Arizona, The Cordish Companies in Pennsylvania, and Caesars Entertainment in Indiana and New Jersey.
