The Casino Association of New Jersey CANJ), in collaboration with AtlantiCare, has announced that casinos in Atlantic City would organise COVID-19 vaccination programmes at locations throughout the region.
Employees, family, guests, and the general public in Atlantic City can get free COVID-19 vaccinations at a variety of gaming facilities in the area.
Pop-Up Vaccination Units
Terry Glebocki, president of the CANJ explained: “The Atlantic City casino industry remains focused on the health and safety of its employees, guests and fellow residents. These pop-up vaccination clinics provide our employees and their families another opportunity to get vaccinated on site at our casino properties.
“Through this latest effort, we will continue to support Governor Phil Murphy’s goal of vaccinating 4.7 million adults in New Jersey by the end of June.”
Several Atlantic City casino hotels, including Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino, Caesars, Ocean Casino Resort, and Tropicana Atlantic City, opened pop-up immunisation clinics this past weekend.
Additional immunisation activities will be hosted at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Resorts Casino Hotel on Saturday, June 5, 2021, over the next few weeks.
On Sunday, June 6, 2021, the Golden Nugget Atlantic City and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will conduct their first immunisation events. Those aged 12 and up are eligible for vaccinations.
Convenience and ease
Margaret Belfield, chief operating officer at AtlantiCare said: “We are pleased to continue vaccinating local hospitality workers in collaboration with the CANJ and Unite Here Local 54.
“By expanding our vaccination on-site clinics into the casinos we are making getting a vaccine even more convenient as we all work to protect our community and those who visit Atlantic City and the surrounding region.”
Working together
This latest collaboration comes after CANJ, AtlantiCare, and Unite Here Local 54 announced in March 2021 that they will work together to vaccinate as many of the city’s casino employees as possible by Memorial Day 2021.
“This has been a challenging year for all of us, but we are ready to move forward and rebuild and recover from this unprecedented pandemic,” added Glebocki.
“We are truly grateful for the ongoing support of the Murphy Administration, AtlantiCare, Unite Here Local 54, our frontline team members and first responders who have worked together with us every step of the way to help vaccinate our team members, guests and fellow residents.
“As we look to turn the page on this difficult chapter, we will always remember how everyone came together in the best interest of Atlantic City.”
