The New York Racing Association’s online betting platform NYRA Bets has signed an agreement with BetMGM, making it the operator’s first horse racing partner in the United States.

NYRA Bets is available in 30 states and at over 200 horse racing venues throughout the world.

Customers will be able to gamble on events such as the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and Breeders’ Cup thanks to BetMGM’s access to NYRA’s horse racing app.

Thrilling, interactive experience

BetMGM chief executive Adam Greenblatt said: “We’ve found a great partner in NYRA Bets and look forward to working with them to create a thrilling, interactive experience for horse racing fans on BetMGM.”

Tony Allevato, President of NYRA Bets, added: “This is the type of partnership that reflects the importance of horse racing within the rapidly evolving sports betting marketplace.

“BetMGM has consistently led the charge to expand wagering opportunities for their customers, and we are thrilled that our horse racing content will soon be available on their platform.”

Following Baltimore Ravens’ appointment of BetMGM As official gaming partner earlier this month and the LPGA Tour’s official betting partner, horse racing is the newest sport for BetMGM to connect with.

The agreement comes as New York gets closer to legalising mobile betting.

Following Governor Andrew Cuomo’s passage of the state’s 2022 budget into law in April, a tender process to pick at least two platform providers is slated to commence on June 1st.
