For the second phase of its technology upgrade programme designed to create a cutting-edge fan experience at Washington DC’s Capital One Arena, home of Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards, Monumental Sports & Entertainment has partnered with Colosseo.
The main focus is the first telescopic centre-hung video board Colosseo Vision, with over 7,000 total square feet of 360-degree zero bezel SMART LED screens, enabling massive real-time statistical infotainment and superior advertising monetization.
The centre hung masterpiece, the highest among all U.S. competitors, features the first bottom-facing LED surface and double-sided LED ring to optimise game presentation under the video board from every angle. The new LED centrepiece from Capital One Arena is North America’s largest 360-degree continuous LED area video screen.
The other first of its kind visual experience is the world’s first gravity-defying SkyRing LED display, wrapped around the arena bowl’s ceiling and providing LED canvas with 9,000 square feet.
The next unique visual experience in the stadium’s in-bowl consists of four double-sided angled corner screens, which elevates the luxury view of fans in the top rows. The boards have over 2,200 square feet of HD LED and the first LED video display on the back side. Many upper bowl viewers will appreciate more than 1,000 square feet of back side LED displays.
The upgraded Capital One Arena now features more than 35,000 square feet of Colosseo LED displays across the arena, controlled by the media platform of Colosseo.
