Suspect Of Blackjack Winnings Armed Robbery Arrested

On Tuesday in relation to a December robbery and shooting involving a Dale City man who won big at MGM National Harbor casino in Maryland, police from Prince William, Virginia revealed they had arrested a man and were looking for two others.

The 33-year-old victim had an especially good night at the December 19 casino, winning $39,000 in blackjack action. Surveillance footage shows a group of men who had been trailing the man and his companion as they entered the casino.

They stopped off at a Woodbridge, Virginia gas station, on their drive home. “As they exited the car, they were approached by multiple masked men who had just pulled into the driveway behind them,” Officer Renee Carr explained.

The masked men’s group shot the victim, and took his money. They took his acquaintance’s winnings too but he was left unharmed.

As police arrived they found the victim lying on the street with a gunshot wound and his upper body had sustained multiple injuries. He travelled by helicopter to a hospital area with life-threatening injuries, but has been recovered and released since then.

A police search warrant obtained in connexion with the robbery and shooting by the violent crime unit led to the arrest of one man. Javontae Renard Smallwood, 27, was arrested on charges of one count of aggravated malicious wounding and two counts of a weapon being used in the commission of a crime. He’d also been charged with two armed robbery offences.

Authorities are also looking for our Tavon Everett Lee Vines, 27, and Daquan Artis Tinker, 23, both of whom both live in Washington, D.C. Both men are being investigated for one count of aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of weapon use in a criminal case, and two counts of armed robbery.
