The recent launch of the new luxury casino of the Subic Bay Yacht Club has appeared to help increase the already rising gambling industry in the Philippines. The club, located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone along the Philippines coastline, had a soft opening date for quite a while, but that deadline was finally reached with the launch of the new facility on November 11.
The casino is the newly renovated club’s showpiece. This renovation cost PHP500 million ($10 million) and was designed to target Asia’s growing enthusiasts for boating and yachting.
Manuel Antonio Sequeria, who is the CEO and President of Volare Grandezza, one of the firms that partners with Subic Bay in the casino operations, said in a statement: “Subic is a safe haven in the boating world, and we have mega-yachts coming in on a weekly and monthly basis to use Subic Bay as their base.”
The club was designed specifically to attract enthusiasts from all over the region from yachts and boats. Sequeria explained the following: “We have everything from Russian mega-yachts measuring 200 meters and above to mega-ships coming in from China– the smallest being 3,800 people and the biggest 5,200 guests, which is a huge market.”
The club’s intention was to serve as an attraction to the casino for people. He clarified that the boutique casino project was specifically designed with the idea of building a club for this culture. It makes this only the world’s second yacht club to have as part of its creation also a casino, after Hobart Australia.
The casino of the boutique is an amazing building. It opened on Monday as doors were opened with eight tables and 169 slot machines. The number of gaming tables, however, is expected to increase to 43 by December 1. Casino tables will include blackjack, roulette, baccarat, paigow, and pontoon styles.
It is planned that in-house junket operations will begin operations in January next year. The region’s facilities are expected to be expanded, drawing foreign junket operators from across the Asian theatre.
There are a variety of features in addition to gambling that should attract boatsmen to the city. It involves sensational fishing, a beach of 2000 metres, and extremely clean, unpolluted waters. “The growing market in Asia of people boating, yachting, will bring people here,” explained Sequeira to Inside Asian Gaming.
Since the plant is situated in the Clark Freeport Area, it will enjoy all the tax benefits. This region was specifically designed because of the non-tax policy to attract companies to come to the area and set up shop. The Subic Bay Yacht Club seems to be flourishing thanks to the opportunity to earn money without tax worries.
