Stats Perform Secures EPL, EFL And SPL Data Rights

Stats Perform has announced that it has secured official rights to collect and distribute match data for professional English and Scottish football leagues, and has been approved by Football DataCo.

Including the English Premier League (EPL), EFL Championship and all Scottish Premier League (SPL) games, the data agreement will cover over 6,000 matches per season.

Additional deal arrangements will allow Stats Perform to provide broadcasters, media and entertainment organisations with data and statistics from Football DataCo.

The collaboration sees Stats Perform deepening its football data collection, allowing for the availability of official ‘player tracking data’ from Football DataCo, AI-powered ‘insight data’ services for broadcasters, and additional ‘player market data’ for fantasy sports and bookmakers.

Alex Rice, Stats Perform Chief Rights Officer reported on the partnership: “Millions of English and Scottish football fans and bettors have enjoyed trusted media, broadcast, fantasy and betting experiences powered by Stats Perform’s opta data for the past seven years.

“We are honoured that our investment in collecting and distributing the fastest, most accurate detailed event data with the utmost professionalism has again been recognised by Football Dataco.”

In addition to its data agreement, Stats Perform has outlined that it will partner with the creation of the new FootballDataCo AI-driven ‘FDC Data Labs’ – its latest innovation studio developed with Second Spectrum sports data collection experts to bring latest viewing experiences to life.

FDC Data Laboratories, a key guideline for FootballDataCo, aims to revolutionise all components of football viewership and audience participation by leveraging data collection for all main market verticals-advertising, advertisers, entertainment and sports betting.

“Extending our partnership with Stats Perform was an obvious choice,” said Adrian Ford, FDC General Manager.

“The opta data brand is strong and the business has a deep understanding of football, vital factors for our Leagues who want the best and most trusted data. Stats Perform will build on these strong foundations and continue to drive innovation through our FDC Labs partnership, using data to tell new stories for fans who have an appetite for greater insight into the beautiful game.”
