In a move toward the sports tech company’s strategic focus on fan interaction, 13 Strides, a visual sports content studio, has been acquired by Stats Perform.
The company, which has partnered with a variety of media companies, sports leagues, teams, and brands to empower a variety of clients with the ability to create visual content and graphics, addresses the challenge of capturing and engaging fans’ attention across multiple mediums such as social media, broadcast, stadium screens, and scoreboards.
Clients will now have access to the aforementioned technologies, as well as extensive sports data and advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI), thanks to the inclusion of the 13 Strides products to the Stats Perform portfolio.
13 Strides’ Co-Founder and CTO, Kevin Allinson said: “Our passion has always been around the visual power of sport, and so this opportunity to use data, and AI takes our ambitions to a completely new level.
“We are very excited to be joining Stats Perform and to be accelerating our roadmap into new technologies and sectors of sport.”
13 Strides’ knowledge and technology, according to Stats Perform, will be the “perfect complement” to PressBox, a newly developed media platform.
Clients of Stats Perform will get direct access to the PressBox platform, where they can swiftly produce data and AI-infused visualisations. In addition, 13 Strides’ expanded graphics and visualisations will complement Stats Perform’s broader product offering across all market categories.
Carl Mergele, Stats Perform, CEO added: “Imagine the power of combining the world’s best repository of sports data, and the most advanced AI, with this simple and fast way to create engaging graphics.
“That’s why we are so excited to welcome 13 Strides to our organisation. With their expertise in fan engagement and our data and AI, we can empower our clients with the solutions they need to truly delight their fans.”
