Sportradar Group CEO Carsten Koerl will with effect from 1 January 2021, be supported by three regional CEOs in a business reorganisation.
The new setup, Sportradar explained, gives it more flexibility to help future growth, while allowing the company to operate closer to its end markets.
Arne Rees (North America), Werner Becher (UK/EMEA and LatAm) and Eduard Blonk will be the three new regional CEOs (Asia Pacific, APAC).
Rees is based in New York while Blonk in Las Vegas, and Becher will be based in Vienna, confirmed only as the Managing Director of US Betting in October of last year.
Sportradar has reported that Blonk, backed by Michael Maerz as his Manila-based deputy, will lead the APAC region on an interim basis. Blonk has also been named Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), a role that will include both the worldwide sales company and the Sports Content & Partnerships and Integrity Services teams.
In addition to the regional CEOs and Blonk as CCO, five other C-level staff will report to Koerl- Betting & Gaming Chief Product Officer (CPO) Warren Murphy, Sports Entertainment CPO Rainer Geier, Ben Burdsall Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Alex Gersh Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Ulrich Harmuth Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
Koerl said: “As the leading sports technology and innovation business in sports betting and sports entertainment, Sportradar is fully committed to delivering an unmatched experience to our customers and partners,” said Koerl.
“Our updated structure will increase our levels of customer intimacy, agility and overall responsiveness, while also leveraging our tremendous global scale. This reorganisation is a critical step for the future growth of the business, and we will continue to ambitiously set the bar high in the industry.”
