Coinciding with the Australian Open opening day, which kicks off the Grand Slam 2020 professional tennis season, Sportradar announced that it has extended its relationship with Tennis Australia to help data and integrity resources of the governing body.
Since 2016, Sportradar has served as the lead data gatherer and distributor of syndicated Tennis Australia tournaments.
The new partnership arrangement will see Australia’s governing body of professional tennis benefit from Sportradar audiovisual (AV) and data content, technology encoding and additional integrity services.
In the future, all Tennis Australia matches will be covered by Sportradar AV encoding services to provide high-definition streams for the official website, app and social media platforms of the Australian Open, and broadcast partners across various territories like Australia, New Zealand, India, and the Subcontinent, as well as the Americas.
Sportradar will continue to deliver its AV, Information and Integrity Services for the Australian Open, the Asia Pacific Grand Slam, Qualifiers and Wild Card play-offs in Melbourne and Zhuhai, China, as well as the Adelaide ATP 250.
David Lampitt, managing director of sports collaborations for Sportradar said: “The Australian Open is a hugely popular event across the world. Tennis Australia has a truly innovative and progressive approach to nurturing and advancing the interests of the game.
“Our combination of cutting-edge technology together with our expertise across data, AV and Integrity Services will continue to support those aims. Our own mission in partnering with rights holders like Tennis Australia is clear – we have an ongoing and long-term commitment to safeguarding tennis, whilst delivering investment into premium content enabling the continued growth of the game across the world.”
