The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has extended LeoVegas AB’s operating licence for another five years, until 2026.
The extension would allow LeoVegas to continue operating its online casino and sportsbook brands in Denmark’s regulated market, which was restructured in 2018.
LeoVegas has been active in the Danish industry since 2016 and has quickly established itself as one of the most well-known brands.
The extension of Spillemyndigheden was regarded critical to LeoVegas’ plan of expanding across Europe’s regulated sector. The company is licenced in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein, Ireland, and Malta.
Denmark’s licenced online gambling enterprises have agreed to adhere by the norms of a new code of conduct on marketing for the duration of 2021, in an effort to curb the sector’s spread.
“Our Danish launch was one of our most successful, and the fact that we are now one of the largest operators in this market is testament to that,” said Gustaf Hagman, Group CEO of LeoVegas AB.
“I am thrilled that LeoVegas can continue to offer our customers in Denmark the greatest gaming experience, as a responsible and sustainable operator.”
