SkyCity To Open Adelaide Expansion In Staged Manner

SkyCity has announced that it would open up its delayed A$3330m Adelaide expansion development to the public in a staged manner. The news follows an announcement by the government of South Australia repealing those restrictions imposed in November by Covid-19 that saw Adelaide casino and entertainment facilities subject to a maximum capacity limit of 100 people per site.

Eos, a new luxury 120-room hotel, Sol Bar and Restaurant (a new rooftop bar and restaurant) and ITL, a new modern Italian restaurant adjacent to the Festival Plaza, will be open to the public from 1 December.

New gaming areas are now available to members of SkyCity Premier Rewards exclusively. On 3 December, they will be open to the public. The City, a new entertainment venue with a brewery, sports bar, poker zone and bistro on Level 1 of the current Railway Building, will also open on December 3.

Until the introduction of an approved Covid-19 management plan, physical distancing and hygiene criteria will remain in place, including a total capacity limit of 1,000 patrons around the gaming floor.

There is a density requirement for an initial two-week span of one person per four square metres inside and one person per two square metres outdoors. Electronic gaming machines have also been designed to allow sufficient physical distance, customers at each gaming table are limited, dining facilities have been appropriately spaced and there are enhanced hygiene protocols in place.
