Scientific Games has merged modern, advanced core instant ticket system technology with its joint venture partner’s gaming system to support Lotterie Nazionali, the operator of Gratta e Vinci in Italy. The newly integrated system will supply power to more than 60,000 retail outlets. Since 2004 the company has supplied instant ticket system technology to Lotterie Nazionali and its parent, Consorzio Lotterie Nazionali.
Instant Gratta e Vinci games debuted in 2004 and the product category increased to more than $10 billion in annual retail sales by 2018, a compound annual growth rate of more than 23 percent (La Fleur’s Almanac). Scientific Games also provides most instant games bought by players in the country with a population of more than 60 million.
For Scientific Games, company chief executive lottery Pat McHugh said: “We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with Lotterie Nazionali, and excited to provide our new instant ticket system technology in Italy. Our games and technology are continually advancing with focus on responsibly maximising lottery returns to lottery beneficiaries.”
