Scientific Games has announced what it lauds with the California State Lottery as a major contract extension, as the company also details its latest Tetris Extreme slot title for international igaming markets.
In The Golden State’s three-year extension, the gaming and sports betting technology company continues to be the primary provider of instant games and related services to the lottery until November 2022, with potential extensions remaining under effect until 2025.
Since its inception in 1985, Scientific Games has provided instant games to the California Lottery, helping to increase instant game retail sales from $3.06 billion annually in the 2013 calendar year to $5.06 billion in the 2018 calendar year.
Under the terms of the extension, the company will continue to provide instant games and products such as brand and player analysis, game design, game portfolio scheduling, integrated advertising campaigns and distributor account management to “the number three instant game lottery in the world.”
“As the California Lottery’s profits grow responsibly, so does the collective impact our partnership has on public education in the state,” noted John Schulz, senior vice president of lottery instant products for Scientific Games.
“We value the trust the California Lottery has placed in Scientific Games, and we are proud to continue our focus on innovation and growth that ultimately benefits students in the state of California.”
The Tetris Extreme open gaming system, compatible with the mega drop jackpots feature, aims to re-imagine the internationally recognisable video game by increased win ability, that multipliers and introducing a free drops bonus.
Dylan Slaney, SVP of casino at Scientific Games, said: “Tetris Extreme mega drop brings to life the beloved global video game brand as a high-quality slot game experience. We’re eager to make a splash with fans in igaming markets across the globe by combining that undeniable Tetris feel with our player-favourite mega drop mechanic.”
