An existing partnership with Flutter Entertainment has been expanded by Scientific Games to accommodate the provision of online and mobile sports betting as well as igaming content for FanDuel on the US market.
The development will see Scientific Games serving turned sports betting powerhouse fantasy sports operator in regulated state markets across the nation.
OpenBet, the renowned sports betting engine that now sits under the OpenSports umbrella of SG Digital (Scientific Games online division), has been at the heart of Flutter’s proprietary sports platform in Europe for more than a decade.
The company released a short statement during ICE London, which said that it was “looking forward to taking this partnership to the US”.
FanDuel, part of the brand’s Flutter stable alongside Paddy Power, Betfair and Sportsbet, blazed a path in New Jersey–the state competing neck and neck with Nevada as the two strong sports betting revenue leaders.
In December 2019, online sports betting sites licenced through New Jersey’s Meadowlands, led by FanDuel but including PointsBet, generated revenues in excess of $12 m.
New Jersey’s record month remains October of last year, with online revenues reaching $38.7 m, including $20.7 m through these two skins.
