Seminole Hard Rock has been named a US Best Managed Company for 2021, marking the first time that a privately held gaming company has earned the honour.
The 2021 designees are US private companies that have shown excellence in strategic planning and execution, a commitment to their employees and cultivating a diverse, resilient community, as well as solid financials, all while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic’s uncertainty.
Despite tremendous obstacles and enormous strain, they continued to lead with intent and vision in order to make significant contributions to their businesses, cultures, workforces, and economies.
First gaming company to be awarded
Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International, said: “On behalf of the 40,000+ team members at Seminole Hard Rock, we are humbled to be the first gaming company awarded the US Best Managed Company designation and to be recognised alongside so many outstanding privately-held businesses.
“Our team members all contribute to the success of our organisation and I want to thank them for their dedication and commitment to service excellence and financial results, which make this recognition possible.”
The US Best Managed Companies programme targeted over 500 candidates from around the country in 2021, with 49 honorees chosen from a pool of 70 finalists. A panel of external judges assesses hallmarks of success in four main areas: policy, ability to execute, organisational culture, and financial results, and selects applicants.
Seminole Hard Rock now enters a global ecosystem of Best Managed Companies honourees from more than 30 countries, enabling them to obtain significant local and international recognition for their management excellence.
