Scientific Games has concluded an agreement to provide the Italian pari-mutuel game provider Sisal with its WAVE retailer terminals and related facilities on an exclusive grounds.
The agreement emerges as a consequence of the scientific games receiving a private limited tender, which Sisal held in preparing for a public tender to run the SuperEnalotto lottery game. In July, Sisal was chosen as the winner of the bidding, before entering the agreement last week.
Sisal, which saw contest from Lottomatica and Sazka’s Italian subsidiary GNTN Holding to purchase the SuperEnalotto agreement, intends to carry out the Scientific Games terminals across Italy next year.
“The unique combination of Scientific Games’ laser sharp operations team and their innovative product portfolio helped Sisal achieve the best technical score possible on the licence tender,” Sisal managing director for lottery, Marco Caccavale, said.
Sisal is a long-term user of the WAVE terminal technology of Scientific Games, which became one of the first operators in the world to place orders for machines in 2010. The original order was for 20,000 WAVE terminals.
Pat McHugh, chief executive for lottery for Scientific Games, added: “This new agreement with Sisal demonstrates the value of our award-winning retail products in one of the largest and most competitive markets.
“We are honoured they chose us as their business partner. It also confirms that Scientific Games is on the right path to execute our global strategy to serve our gaming and lottery customers across multiple gaming verticals.”
The recent arrangement arises after this month’s Scientific Games was awarded a 10-year contract to deliver instant win games and their retail technology to the Turkish national lottery Milli Piyango.
The joint venture between Sisal and Dijital, a subsidiary of the Turkish multinational Demirören Group, had already obtained working privileges for Milli Piyango, and it was subsequently disclosed that Scientific Games would act as the supplier of immediate victory matches for JV.
Scientific Games will also produce associates with its WAVE technology and support structures. The re-launch of the Turkish National Lottery, under the control of the Sisal-Sans JV, is scheduled to take place in 2020.
