Sarah Lucas, head of IT technology and cloud tech ventures at William Hill, has been recognised as one of the most dynamic and successful executives of UK tech by IT publisher ‘Computing’ (Incisive Media).
Computing commended Lucas, calling her the ‘Hero of the Year for its prestigious ‘Women in Tech Excellence Awards’, which recognises the UK’s top female IT talents with the goal of championing diversity and inclusion amongst all corporate IT disciplines.
The main partners of Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMware, Computacenter and Perform Partners have nominated Lucas, who has led the core technology infrastructure projects of William Hill since 2015.

Computing announced that Lucas had beaten a field of 800 award nominations, with judges acknowledging her track record and efficient management qualities that helped her achieve the FTSE bookmaker’s complex high-scale tech ventures.
On winning the prize, Lucas commented: “These awards are so valuable as they recognise top-performing women from across the sphere of technology and provide that crucial inspiration for younger women looking to build careers in our industry.
“It’s so important that young women in our industry see women represented in senior roles.”
