The Far Eastern Province of Primorsky Krai, in Russia has officially announced that the first phase of the new Shambala Casino is expected to open later on ‘this summer’ after more than two years of development.
According to a G3Newswire article on Tuesday, this site for the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Resort zone is the brainchild of local developer Shambala CJSC and is now scheduled to debut its $48.8 million initial stage with a 55,970 sq ft casino before the end of September.
G3Newswire announced that Shambala CJSC subsequently plans to invest an additional $62.7 million to add a 270-room hotel to its forthcoming Siberian property, as well as a spa and conference centre. The source outlined that these later facilities would almost certainly allow Summit Ascent Holdings Limited ‘s proposed five-star facility to compete better with the region’s only other gambling-friendly venue, the nearby Tigre De Cristal.
The general director for Shambala CJSC, Maxim Smolentsev, has reportedly thanked the local government for promoting Shambala Casino’s growth ‘in every way.’ He also allegedly claimed that the upcoming company will look to become ‘a pan-Asian resort that attracts tourists from many countries around the world’ with an initial focus on Japan, China , South Korea, and Cambodia casino aficionados.
The Deputy Chairman of the casino company, Konstantin Shestakov, has reportedly agreed and further proclaimed that the coming Shambala Casino is expected to give high-rolling gamblers ‘a wonderful facility,’ although there are currently no plans to retain the property as a ‘closed elite club.’
The Primorye Integrated Entertainment Resort zone is located approximately 30 miles north of Vladivostok and is one of only five distinct areas in Russia where casino gambling is allowed. The Executive Director of the state-owned Primorsky Krai Development Corporation, Igor Trofimov, reportedly claimed that up to ten more analogous integrated casino resorts could eventually join Shambala Casino and Tigre De Cristal.
