To support Safer Gambling Week 2020, Reading Football Club has signed up it’s services, starting by offering to change its first team shirt logo for their next game.
The Royals’ jerseys will see Casumo change the logo to highlight CasumoCares, the Malta-based online casino operator’s platform dedicated to healthy and responsible gaming, for Wednesday’s visit to The Den to take on Millwall.
At the beginning of last season, Casumo secured an agreement to become the official front sponsor of Reading’s jersey, with the deal expected to run until the summer of 2021.
Safer Gambling Week, which started in 2017 to integrate all sectors of the gambling industry, takes place from 19-25 November this year and will see more than 100,000 workers participating in more than 9,000 gambling venues and web platforms. This also marks the third consecutive year of participation by clubs from the Premier League and the English Football League.
A spokesperson for Casumo said: “Casumo views social responsibility and responsible gambling as the core of our business and strives to ensure that our players are prevented from at-risk and problem gambling.
“We promote a safe and fun environment and ensure that gambling is seen just as entertainment. We proudly offer and recommend our PlayOkay limit to all our players.
“PlayOkay is a useful tool that allows you to control exactly how much money and time you choose to affordably spend gambling.”
The goal of the SGW campaign is to initiate a national conversation on safer gambling, to highlight the tools, advice and assistance available to customers, and the initiatives that operators and supporters take throughout the year to promote social responsibility.
It is led by the Betting and Gaming Council, the Bingo Association and the British Amusement Catering Trade Association trade associations, which are once again joined by the Irish Bookmakers Association this year.
A spokesperson for Safer Gambling Week added: “We are delighted that Reading will be supporting Safer Gambling Week.
“We want to take the message about safer gambling even further this year, and are hoping that this will be our biggest campaign yet.
“The continued engagement and support of football clubs is enormously helpful in highlighting the week and triggering conversations about what it means to gamble safely throughout the year.”
