The on-demand delivery company Rappi launched their new betting offering, Rappi Apuestas, in Colombia. Users aged 18 or older will be able to access the platform which features operators approved by Colombia’s Coljuegos regulatory body.
The new platform is available on iOS, and its online version and Android, with operators including BetPlay, Rivalo, Rushbet, BetJuego and MegaApuesta, will soon follow. Players only need to download the app, choose a bookmaker and then pick a list of games to bet on.
This new product will be connected to the electronic payment facilitator RappiPay, which aims to provide better protection by using a QR code tool. According to La República, the aim of this agreement between Rappi, Toplay and Coljuegos is to generate greater financial contributions to the health care system in Colombia and to counter illegal treatment.
Rappi’s general manager in Colombia, Matías Laks, said the firm is aiming to contribute to the country’s digitisation of approved games of chance.
“With Rappi Apuestas we will have the possibility of connecting thousands of users in the country with authorized bookmakers in the country so they can play in a transparent and safe way, as part of an industry that is growing rapidly in the region,” he said.
Rivalo country manager Alvaro José Mosquera added: “With this new channel, operators not only provide a friendly and familiar user experience, but we also find an ally for the growth of the industry, connecting with current and potential users, in one place.
“These types of alliances and integrations promote innovation and technology as tools to connect businesses with their audience in digital ecosystems like Rappi.”
