Rank Group has given its sponsorship of League One football team Ipswich Town FC to Carers Trust, with the logo of the charity set to a prominent feature on the 2020-21 season home kit of the team.
Currently the team shirt features the Rank online casino subsidiary logo, Magical Vegas. The money was donated to increase the organisation’s profile that helps unpaid UK caregivers.
John O’Reilly, chief executive of Rank said: “We’re proud of our partnership with Carers Trust and we’re continually looking at ways in which we can further support the charity. We’re delighted that this sponsorship will shine a much needed spotlight on the fantastic work Carers Trust do in supporting unpaid carers across the UK.”
CEO of Carers Trust, Gareth Howells, has said: “We are thrilled to see unpaid carers recognised with the Carers Trust logo featured on such a special commemorative shirt. On behalf of all the unpaid carers we work with, I’d like to wish Ipswich Town every success for the new season.”
A variety of betting and gaming companies have expressed their support for causes such as the NHS through sponsorships, tournaments and charitable contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In April, Bookee ‘s team released an app called Swipe that runs free-to-play competitions and is dedicated to matching all winners with a donation to the NHS.
Additionally, members of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) raised £ 250,000 from Royal Ascot’s Britannia Stakes for Cancer and Covid-19 charities after promising to donate all of the winning and each-way income.
