UK sports betting company Racing Post has formalised its expansion into the US with a new brand, Pickswise, which intends to provide professional content tipping on state-of – the-art sports like football (NFL), basketball (NBA), hockey (NHL) and baseball (MLB).
The website officially launches this week with a free to play fantasy game in conjunction with Incentive Games, offering a first prize of $250,000, having recently obtained a vendor licence in New Jersey with other states set to follow.
Pickswise has been alive since the start of 2019 and has seen significant user growth since the start of the NFL season, according to the company.
The switch to the United States, the company said, expands its growing online business and aims to diversify beyond horse racing. Racing Post has applied its betting expertise to U.S. sports in this latest initiative on sports and has invested in both automated and manual content to provide sports bettors with information and insight.
Cian Nugent, Digital Director, said: “We explored a number of different options for our entry into the US market, but with our experience in engaging bettors with expert tipping content an affiliate play was an obvious first option.
“We’ve already seen the success of that since the start of the NFL season and we’re looking forward to working with our bookmaker partners to maximise the opportunity.”
