New Jersey

Most people think of New Jersey as the Garden State, but the nickname that more accurately applies to the East Coast state is the Gambling State. In fact, with its popularity as a destination for horse racing, legal casino gambling, and online sports betting, New Jersey is often referred to as “America’s Sportsbook.” The state’s racetracks and casinos generate about $8 billion annually, while legal sports betting is a $4.6 billion business. That’s a lot of action, especially when you consider that the state’s population is just 8.9 million people—just two million more than the entire Las Vegas region.
