Pronet Take On Mark Schmidt To Drive African Sales

Pronet Gaming has announced the appointment of Mark Schmidt, who will be responsible for driving commercial growth across the continent, as its Director of Sales for Africa.

Lauded as a key executive recruit, Schmidt has 11 years of experience working in African wagering and sports markets, most recently heading business growth for IMG Arena in Africa and the Middle East.

Pronet highlighted the executive’s first-hand experience of working inside African betting markets, having previously served as Sportsbook Manager of Durban-based bookmaker Hollywood Bets, beyond Schmidt’s established track record in commercial growth.

In support of Schmidt ‘s appointment as African market leader, Pronet Chief Commercial Officer Bobby Longhurst said:  “Given our fast-growing presence in Africa it’s fantastic to now have Mark at the helm of our regional expansion to bring in new commercial opportunities.

In 2019, Pronet conducted a strategic redesign of its technology and platform solutions to become the leading provider of omni-channel systems for gambling incumbents in Africa and Asia’s emerging markets.
