Playtech Deepens US Footprint With Greenwood

As the gambling software firm rolls out strategic partnerships with different Greenwood Racing subsidiaries, Playtech will further deepen its footprint in the US.

The collaboration involves the licensing of Playtech products to the Greenwood companies in the states of Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, beginning with the first on the IMS and player account management site of the group’s online casino.

Digital and retail presence

Greenwood, which owns and operates the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, also has a digital and retail presence in New Jersey at the Freehold Raceway, and, in conjunction with Gun Lake Casino, operates land-based sports betting in the Wolverine State.

Playtech obtained regulatory approval to launch bet365 and Entain in the Garden State in Michigan in December 2020, and praised its upcoming moves in the country since joining the US market following license approval and launch.

Latin America

The business also celebrated ongoing development across the Latin American region in a recent trade update, with strong growth highlighted in Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer commented: “This strategic partnership with the Greenwood companies represents a major milestone for Playtech and I’m excited to work with them to help achieve their growth plans in the coming years.

“The US is a highly strategic market and this multi-state, multi-product agreement highlights the demand for the full breadth of our product offering. This is the next step for Playtech in the US and we are delighted to work with the Greenwood companies to capture this exciting long-term opportunity.”

In its aforementioned trading update, Playtech said that its full output for 2020 is expected to be beyond expectations, with praise given to its people’s “hard work, resilience and commitment,” as well as strategic and operational improvement in a challenging setting.
