Phoenix Suns Name FanDuel As Official Sportsbook And DFS Partner

Last week, the Phoenix Suns and FanDuel Group announced a multi-year market access agreement, naming the sportsbook operator as the Suns’ Official Sportsbook and DFS Partner.

The agreement comes after the Arizona State Legislature and Governor Doug Ducey made history by passing legislation legalising fantasy sports and sports betting in the state.

‘Watershed moment’

The signing of the contract, according to Phoenix Suns President and CEO Jason Rowley, is a “watershed moment” for the Suns organisation and its fans, adding, “FanDuel is the perfect partner as our missions are system efficiency. Simply put, FanDuel is committed to making sports more exciting, while the Suns are focused on delivering exciting sports and entertainment and engaging fans to the highest level possible.”

FanDuel Group CMO Mike Raffenspberger stated: “As we gear up to bring our best-in-class online and retail offerings to the state of Arizona, this is a momentous time for FanDuel, the Suns, and Suns fans alike. We’re excited to open a luxury sportsbook within Phoenix Suns Arena, as the beginning of a long-term and innovative collaboration that will have a lasting impact on the state.”

The comprehensive agreement will include the opening of a luxury retail sportsbook inside Phoenix Suns Arena, subject to regulatory approvals, further cementing it as the Southwest’s preeminent sports and entertainment destination. The arena is scheduled to be finished in time for the NBA season in 2021-22.

The FanDuel Sportsbook at Phoenix Suns Arena will be fans’ one-stop shop for watching Suns games and other sporting events around the world while making wagers on the action. It will span 6,300 square feet and feature comfortable lounge seating. It will be open every day of the year for patrons to place bets on a number of events.

During game days and other hosted sporting events, fans will be able to place bets on their mobile devices in Phoenix Suns Arena, in addition to a full-service ticket window and self-service kiosks inside the sportsbook. Because of the Suns’ agreement with Verizon, Phoenix Suns Arena now has a 5G Ultra Wideband network, allowing for seamless mobile transactions via the official FanDuel Sportsbook App.

FanDuel DFS product

Later this year, FanDuel will introduce its daily fantasy sports product to Arizona. FanDuel’s fantasy sports app, designed for the everyday fan, provides limitless opportunities in regular, weekly, and season-long competitions with cash prizes.

Both parties will collaborate on a series of responsible gambling education programmes as part of the arrangement, ensuring that Arizona fans will enjoy their sports experience responsibly. This involves advertising that encourages consumers to gamble responsibly and within their means.
