With the addition of seasoned marketing executive Marla Kaplowitz, Penn National Gaming has strengthened the board of directors.
Kaplowitz is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, a non-profit trade group whose membership accounts for over 85 percent of all domestic advertising expenditure in the United States.
Penn National Gaming’s Chairman David Handler said of the appointment: “Marla is an innovator and a proven leader in marketing and digital transformation, which will serve us well as Penn National continues its evolution into the nation’s leading omni-channel provider of retail and interactive gaming, sports betting and entertainment.
“We’re delighted to have her unique talents on the Board.”
Kaplowitz’s impressive resume includes six years as MEC Global (now Wavemaker Global) CEO North America, before which she spent 12 years at MediaVest.
At MediaVest, Kaplowitz led communications strategy for North America for Procter & Gamble and collaborated with brands such as Avon, Denny’s, Heineken and Norelco.
Kaplowitz started her career at DMB&B, working with major clients, including Burger King, after graduating with a BA in Sociology from the University of California.
She joined Ammirati Puris Lintas later, where she managed high-profile accounts such as Labatt, Unilever, and Nickelodeon Networks.
