Penn National Confirms Hollywood Casino York’s Reopening August 12th

Penn National Gaming has stated that the public will be able to visit Hollywood Casino York on Thursday, August 12th, pending final regulatory permissions.

The category four casino, which opened in December 2019 and is located in the York Galleria Mall in Springettsbury Township, is PNG’s third facility in Pennsylvania, joining Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville and The Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington. Hollywood Casino Morgantown, the fourth location, is set to open later this year.

Countdown begins

Hollywood Casino York’s vice president and general manager, Ruben Warren said: “The countdown to our grand opening begins today.

“We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining and entertainment.”

The 80,000-square-foot casino will have 500 slot machines and 24 table games, with the capacity to expand to 750 slot machines and 40 table games. A Barstool sportsbook and racebook, as well as a diner and beverages, a casual restaurant and bar, and a grab-and-go eatery, will be available at Hollywood Casino York.

Local charities

The company will offer two invitation-only test days prior to the official opening, with gaming proceeds benefiting local charities such as York County Veterans Outreach, York County Food Bank, Mr Sandy’s Veterans Helping Hand, and local VFWs and American Legion posts.

“We are thrilled to be supporting the work of these incredible organisations in York County,” added Warren. “Penn National is committed to being actively engaged in the community and partnering with worthwhile groups to assist those in need.”
